Sugaring - effectiveness

Various salons and beauty studios provide a service called sugaring. The name sugaring comes from the English word “sugar”, which means “sugar”. This hair removal method was widely used in ancient times, and today it is finding more and more positive responses.
The process itself involves applying a special paste made from sugar, honey or caramel to the skin. Unlike waxing, sugaring has the following advantages:
- High efficiency - sugar paste lies tightly on the surface and envelops even the finest hairs; after removal, the skin becomes smooth and even.
- Lack of heating - makes it possible to perform depilation for those who suffer from varicose veins of the lower extremities.
- The main thing is sugaring does not cause allergies - since it consists only of natural ingredients, the risk of skin irritation is minimized.
- Economy and simplicity - with one sugar ball you can repeat the procedure in several areas of the body. After removal, residues on the skin are simply washed off with warm water.
Room temperature of the syrup - no need to be afraid of getting burned during hair removal.
Sugaring paste can be purchased in specialized stores or pharmacies. An important feature of the procedure is the absence of processed chemical components. In addition to sugar, some manufacturers add plant extracts and lemon juice. You can make the paste at home; all you need is a small lump of thick sugar molasses.
Technique of the procedure
Before applying the mixture, it is necessary to clean the area of skin where epilation will be carried out. It is enough to wash the area with soap and apply talc after drying.
You need to roll a small ball out of sugar paste, then attach it to your skin against the growth of your hair, and you need to pull it in the direction of growth.
Residues should be washed off with warm water and a soothing lotion applied to the skin.
After the procedure, it is not recommended to sunbathe or visit a solarium. This is necessary to prevent the appearance of age spots under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.
The removal procedure itself is accompanied by slight discomfort. If the skin is very sensitive and the pain threshold is quite low, you need to warn your cosmetologist. Typically, salons have anesthetic cream available.
Contraindications
As with any other method, sugaring has contraindications from cosmetologists when it cannot be used. These include all kinds of skin rashes, the presence of deep wounds, papillomas, hematomas and warts. For chronic, mental and endocrine diseases, it is better not to carry out the procedure. During pregnancy, sugaring should be carried out with great caution, and it is better to postpone it until the end of the lactation period.
