Brief news of Mariupol

As you know, quite recently Odessa hosted a non-standard parade, which was commemorated as the “Equality Parade.” This topic greatly affected the people of Mariupol and they decided to organize something similar. Such an event entered the news of Mariupol instantly, as it could not go unnoticed.
It was not a gay pride parade at all, as many city residents thought. The path of the protesters stretched from the Platfomov office on Metropolitan. Next, the parade participants attracted the attention of passers-by at the city fountain, and then proceeded to the drama theater. Their journey ended somewhere on the central avenue.
All parade participants were dressed in gray outfits, with the help of which they tried to protest against passivity, dullness and monotony. They called on everyone to blend in with the crowd, sit quietly and keep a low profile, thus showing the behavior of many from the outside.
The organizer of the event was Diana Breg. She, along with her like-minded people, prepared posters for the march with thought-provoking messages. Residents of the city of Mariupol rarely watch the news, so they understood absolutely nothing of what was happening and simply perceived the whole event as a parade of representatives of sexual minorities. It’s a pity, because many people should have listened.
Tragedy in Mariupol
On the night of August 12-13, namely at 23:13, an accident occurred. The site of the tragedy was the site on the street. Vinogradnaya, not far from the Ivushka cafe. As a result of the accident, 5 people were injured, who were provided with timely medical assistance.
The VAZ car was moving along the highway when it suddenly turned off the road and crashed into a tree on the side of the road. The driver was a 22-year-old boy who escaped with only a chest bruise. At the scene of the accident, he refused hospitalization.
There were 2 more girls in the car. The adult victim was taken with a left leg injury to city hospital No. 1. But a 17-year-old Mariupol woman with a broken arm had to be taken to city hospital No. 3.
In addition to them, two more servicemen were injured at the scene of the accident. One of them, a 26-year-old guy, was seriously injured. He suffered a head injury, a broken foot, and a concussion. His friend, a 21-year-old boy, suffered a broken nose as a result of the accident. Both of them were hospitalized at Mariupol Military Hospital No. 5.
As reported by Mariupol news, the causes of the accident are unknown. All circumstances are being clarified by police officers who continue to work at the scene.
Burning season
The entire Mariupol news about the increase in fires is frightening. Over the weekend alone, the Rescue Service responded to fires about 200 times. The hottest day was August 13, as 86 calls were recorded on that day.
To date, fire safety level 5 has been declared.
As rescuers note, most of the fires occur in dead wood. Dried wood cannot withstand extremely high temperatures, which leads to fires in grass, trees, sheds, warehouses, etc.
Despite the already difficult situation, an elderly resident of Mariupol, who set fire to his home not for the first time, added to the work of the local firefighters. This time the man suffered carbon monoxide poisoning and was hospitalized in the city hospital. As noted by rescuers who arrived at the scene of the fire, only the outdoor shower and 300 meters of dry grass in the yard were seriously damaged.
The situation remains quite difficult. Rescue workers don't even have a few minutes to eat lunch or dinner. They begin eating only after 21:00, when the heat subsides. Fire trucks are refueled with water and gasoline simply along the way, between regular calls.
According to weather forecasters, the next precipitation is expected no earlier than August 18, so all we can do is wish strength and courage to those people who stand guard over the fire in our city.
